Google introduced a new algorithm called Core Web Vitals. This has become a new ranking factor. Nowadays, Google's search engine is dominant in the search space. They have to spend a lot of time and a lot of research on what makes a good user experience. So they took a lot of things into consideration, and there is a fascinating article that people interested in the science behind all of this can read the science behind web vitals. So basically, they link to multiple research papers in there. They tell you how they've come up with how to measure actual user experiences effectively. They found a few critical things during their research and grouped them under the Core Web Vitals label.

The main three core web vitals are

💎 Largest Contentful Paint ( LCP )
💎 First Input Delay ( FID )
💎 Cumulative Layout Shift ( CLS )

These three core web vitals are related to loading, so how quickly a page is going to load, which they refer to as Largest Contentful Paint ( LCP ), and the recommendation is that your page should load in under 2.5 seconds, so that's the sort of criteria or the limit for LCP.

FID is how soon you can interact with your page, and this is what they call First Input Delay. FID should be less or equal to 100millisconds. So that's the sort of criteria for this particular metric.

Third and final, Core Web Vital is related to stability, so how stable the site is while it loads and how you interact with it is called the Cumulative Layout Shift, which is CLS for short. This is an appropriate value to be less than or equal to 0.1.
